US import duty on goods from Türkiye

Every turkish shipment to the US now needs a customs entry — the $800 de minimis exemption is gone for both courier and post. On top of the ordinary MFN rate, Türkiye carries a 12.5% Section 301 duty.

Türkiye sits in the 12.5% band, and the duty stacks on top of the MFN rate rather than capping it — there is no Agreement on Reciprocal Trade limiting it the way there is for the EU or Japan. For the categories most Turkish sellers ship, rugs and ceramics especially, that country rate is usually larger than the MFN rate itself, so origin rather than product is what drives the bill.
